A few weeks ago, @midokinchan1101 brought us a beautiful 🎂 to our @raviniafestival show. Immense gratitude to our friends and family for always supporting us (and feeding us)! Matcha//red bean... Is there a more beautiful pairing in this world? 😋😋😋😋
A little "Clouds" song for your Sunday afternoon by Komitas. Can't wait to tour our set of Armenian folk songs this fall, starting off our season at @mobilechambermusic today!!!
Three of us are playing with Sir James Galway and Lady Jeanne Galway tonight at @raviniafestival. It was 8 years ago that we met here at @steansmusicinstitute as young artists, hungry for musical soulmates who were ready to dive into the world of the string quartet. THANK GOODNESS we found each other!!! 8 yrs in and we're still family 💙 looking forward to playing with the amazing @sirjamesgalway @bjgalway11 @galwayfluteacademy and pianist and President & CEO of @raviniafestival Welz Kauffman!
Our 19-20 season includes 3 unique programs: Locally Sourced, Songs & Echoes of Home, and Music & Isolation. Check out the details on our website (link in bio) which includes snazzy program notes written by our very own Aizuri members!
Dear Aizuri Family and Friends,
We’re kicking off our 2019-20 season in just one week! As we gear up for our exciting season, we’re delighted to announce a new member of the Aizuri family. It is with the utmost joy that we introduce to the world violinist Emma Frucht. A graduate of Harvard and Juilliard, Emma emanates so much love for quartet playing, and she masters every aspect of it. She holds a degree in Art History, and her creative mind resonates with the language of the Aizuris.
For the past 3 years we have gone on so many incredible adventures with Ariana Kim. We’ve won 2 major competitions, recorded our first ever album, and were nominated for a GRAMMY. We’ve explored the beautiful depths of the string quartet repertoire, and collaborated with world renowned artists. We are truly grateful to Ariana for elevating the quartet to new levels of artistry. Ariana is a newly tenured professor at Cornell University where she will serve as the Director of Music Undergraduate Studies beginning in January 2020. Along with her continued work with The Knights and a second solo record project, she has also been appointed co-artistic director of the Chamber Music Society of Minnesota and of the Paesaggi Musicali Toscani festival in Italy. We wish her all the best in the next chapter of her life!
For the 19-20 season, the Aizuris have three unique touring programs: Locally Sourced, Music & Isolation, and Songs & Echoes of Home. We’ll be making stops in California, Florida, Alabama, Illinois, Texas, and Washington to name a few, and we’ll also be making our Carnegie Hall debut on Dec. 4. You can access our full season at the link in our bio. Let us know if we’re making a stop in your town, and we hope to see you at one of our shows! Thank you for being an Aizuri fan — we are very much looking forward to what the future holds!
